23,000 APS members gain access to new Global Health Platforms
Global Health and the Australian Psychological Society (APS) have executed a strategic partnership agreement that provides APS member discounts for Global Health’s digital platforms, covering ReferralNet Secure Messaging platform, Lifecard Personal Health Record, MasterCare and the HotHealth online patient engagement platform.
HotHealth is a feature-rich patient engagement tool, that extends a provider’s presence on the Internet. The APS partnership involved creating a branded APS smartphone app and has many features for psychologists and their clients to engage online.
The video conferencing function in HotHealth provides the opportunity for continuous delivery of high-quality clinical outcomes and complies with the related security and privacy legislation.
The release of the new video conferencing function also includes support for appointment bookings. The current release enables providers to book video appointments or face-to-face appointments with their patients. A full release of the integrated video conferencing and appointment booking functionality is scheduled for March 2018. This will include integration capabilities with clinical and practice management software.
The APS HotHealth app (www.apshothealth.com) has a responsive design, viewable on any device (smartphones, tablets, desktops) and is also available as a native mobile app from the Google Play and Apple App Stores.
HotHealth’s other patient engagement functions include the ability to establish and engage with private and public communities of common interest, create and share news, articles and videos, organise and manage events and group chat functionality.
The Commonwealth Government introduced new MBS items, effective from 1 November, for psychologists, occupational therapists and allied health that provide access to regional, remote and rural Australia. The APS has over 23,000 members of which approximately 12,000 have Medicare numbers making them eligible for teleconsulting Medicare reimbursements for patients referred by General Practitioners.
The partnership with the APS also provides member discounts to all of Global Health’s digital platforms and software applications covering:
- ReferralNet Secure Messaging platform
- MasterCard
- Lifecard Personal Health Record
As the leading organisation for psychologists in Australia, the APS strongly advocates for the discipline and profession of psychology, supports high standards for the profession, promotes psychological knowledge to enhance community wellbeing and is dedicated to providing benefits to support members’ professional lives.
The functions of the APS are conducted through more than 201 active Member Groups within the Society. There are 43 APS Branches spread across Australia, 48 Interest Groups representing a wide range of special interests and nine APS Colleges representing specific areas within the profession (clinical neuropsychology, clinical psychology, community psychology, counselling psychology, educational and developmental psychology, forensic psychology, health psychology, organisational psychology and sport and exercise psychology).
